**The Role**

The role of the Field Investigator is to carry out investigations on behalf of the company. These investigations are in regard to Motor Liability, Motor Fraud, Motor Theft and Property claims.

The Field Investigator is based from home and organises their own work and diary. It is for the Field Investigator to book their own appointments that fit in with their diary and that of the interviewee.

The Field Investigator will interview Policyholders, Witnesses and Third Parties in order to take fully Court Compliant statements of evidence. The statements are typed and printed in the interview for the interviewee to check and sign.

The Field Investigator will also need to complete associated documents in the appointment as well as photographing the interviewee and documents. An interview lasts 1 ½ - 2 hours.

The Field investigator will also complete recorded video and phone interviews in the course of their investigations when required.

The Field Investigator will be required to attend accident locations in order to produce a sketch of the location, photographs as well as his own statement of the location.

The Field Investigator will also need to carry out cold call visits in order to locate people and to make appointments where they have not co-operated or a contact number is not known.

The Field Investigator will also conduct site visits to validate companies as required in claims investigations.

The Field Investigator is required to provide the documents they produce for each case to the company by means of uploading onto the case file in a word and PDF format. Exhibits may need posting in. They will also need to produce a report which is completed by dictation.

The role requires a great deal of flexibility and organisation as well as IT skills. It is a 40 hour contracted week but the Investigator needs to be available at differing times of the day to be able to facilitate his appointments.

The Field Investigator is provided with a company car for business use only as well as a fuel card, laptop, and measuring wheel.

Areas of coverage for a Field Investigator is normally within an hour of the home address.

The Field Investigator will often have a caseload of 30 - 40 cases which need a good deal of administration skills to manage.

The Field Investigator undergoes initial training before starting the role. Then support and feedback is supplied until the Investigator is at the levels of competency required.

**Salary**: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
