We are looking for a confident, flexible applicant to work as part of the Community Estates and Facilities Team,.
The post holder will supervise the Housekeeping and Cleaning Teams on a daily basis, maintaining a very high standard and a clean, safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors.
If you are experienced in Housekeeping or Contract Cleaning and are looking for a new challenge then this may be the role for you.
You must be confident in Microsoft Packages (Excel, Word, Outlook) and you will require to learn many Trust IT systems to carry out this role.
You MUST HAVE A CLEAN FULL DRIVING LICENCE AND HAVE THE FULL USE OF YOUR OWN VEHICLE, as you will be required to travel from site to site across the Community. Ranging from Hailsham to Rye. (Mileage allowance will be paid)

37.5 hours per week - shifts/hrs to be discussed at interview.
Rota to be discussed at interview but the rota WILL include, early and late shifts, one weekend in 2 and some bank holidays.

Responsible for day-to-day supervision of a multi-functional Facilities Department across the designated area, managing a workforce of housekeeping staff.

Implement cleaning procedures, schedules and record logs to provide Quality Assurance for all areas (in particular tasks to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections) to meet the required standards for “National Standards of Cleanliness” and Legionella compliance.

Be responsible for organising work rotas, authorisation of leave, arranging & authorising Bank cover and processing payroll for authorisation using NHS IT systems

Manage staff sickness, completing return to work interviews, liaising with Manager when the Trust Absence Policy is triggered.

Ensure all staff employed as Lone Workers, sign in & out by telephone or via the Health Roster electronic system to ensure their personal safety.

Liaise with the Facilities Trainer to organise mandatory training session for staff, ensuring compliance at all times

Complete an Annual Appraisal (PDR) with each member of staff, completing necessary paperwork and forwarding to Manager

Arrange and carry out weekly site supervisor inspections, monitoring agreed performance indicators and trends, arranging any remedial works required, as directed by Line Manager.

Ordering of goods via NHS Supply Chain to an agreed budget, maintaining adequate supplies and keeping wastage to a minimum.

Attend training sessions as required by Line Manager to maintain the necessary knowledge and skills including mandatory training.

To be the first point of contact for staff queries, in particular pay, contacting Payroll to discuss any problems & attempted to resolve them.

To chair the monthly Facilities meeting in the absence of line Manager and update meeting log as needed.

Requesting of goods & services not covered by NHS Supply Chain

Distribute cleaning materials to sites within designated area, ensuring an adequate supply is available for use.

Assist with the recruitment and selection, Induction training and support, working rotas, and development of new staff.

Undertake periodic health and safety departmental (facilities) inspections and risk assessments to monitor health and safety standards.

To observe any defects in the fabric of the building, furniture or cleaning equipment within designated area of work, reporting same to Maintenance Department for appropriate repair or attention.

To provide a full cleaning service, as requested, to other Trust sites, covering gaps caused by absences so that a high standard is maintained throughout.

To unlock premises as required, observing alarm and security features.

When last to leave premises, ensure external door locked and alarm set as appropriate to the premises.

To communicate with patients and visitors as appropriate to facilitate a friendly and informative environment.
