We are seeking to appoint a full time (37 hours per week) permanent Customer Service Assistant to undertake face to face customer service and cashiering duties at our busy Haverfordwest Customer Service Centre.

We are looking for friendly and helpful individuals, experienced in dealing with face to face customer enquiries, able to work both as part of an effective team as well as lone working as and when required. You will be able to ‘own’ customer enquiries until they are resolved, inputting customer details into our customer record management (CRM) system as well as using various other IT systems (including daily use of the Microsoft Office Suite for Windows) and providing a range of council services and signposting to customers and council employees.

You will be able to process a high volume of enquiries, including financial transactions, patiently and professionally, accurately and to a high standard, and able to work under pressure. You will be able to follow procedures to ensure the security of cash and payment records. You will also be responsible for maintaining adequate stock levels at the centre as well as conducting monthly stocktakes, overseeing the delivery of stock at the centre, placing orders and issuing stock to customers. You will sometimes be required to act as a key holder for the centre.

You will be provided with first aid and conflict resolution training as part of this role.

You will have at least 5 GCSE at Grade C or above (or equivalent) and NVQ Level 2 customer Care is desirable.

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a customer facing environment is required for this post.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is essential.
