Business Development Manager

Reed Business Support is representing a well-respected steel stockholder, as result of continued business growth our client is now seeking to attract ambitious, relationship-focused Key Account/Business Development and Sales Professionals to join their team.
As an Account Manager/Business Development Manager, will be responsible for the continued development of the Company’s naval and marine business, developing multifunctional relationships and managing the customer supply chain.
**Role Objectives**:
- To undertake an in-depth familiarisation programme to include the Company, its philosophies, lines of contact, products, customers, business and operating processes and procedures
- Help deliver profitable growth in your allocated market sectors
- To become involved in tendering processes, as required
- Work closely with the supplier base, and across the supply chain, to ensure the cost-effective supply and availability of material
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure effective and efficient stock management, ensuring supply meets volume and demand
- To build strong relationships between the company, its customer and supplier base
- Further develop multi-functional relationships with existing and new customers
- To profitably manage and develop a number of existing accounts which could include specific naval and marine accounts for the Key Account/Business Development role, and broader steel trading business for the Sales Professional
- Provide regular local market intelligence, customer end use market information and analysis in order to identify new opportunities
- To liaise closely with the Customer Service team to ensure that the business delivers an industry leading Customer Service experience
- Demonstrate the personal and business acumen necessary to gain the confidence of customers and colleagues at all levels
- Successful applicants for the Key Account/Business Development role will be able to demonstrate strong commercial and financial acumen and ideally have supported a similar customer base
- Good technical acumen and commercial flair will also be required, along with strong negotiation and communication skills
