About the role:
You will be required to work as part of an on-call support rota, managing large-scale support issues outside of core operational hours. This can include some additional work on
- and off-site during evenings and weekends.
You will be tasked with building a strong, effective and customer-focused team of support specialists grow their abilities, aligning their development requirements to meet University and Service objectives, and provide leadership that reflects ARU’s values,motivates individuals and promotes performance improvement.
You will also operate an escalation point for issues raised by customers, colleagues or third-party providers, answering concerns, addressing disputes and resolving complaints in a responsible and professional manner.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- You will have strong understanding, knowledge and experience with Database management and its related technologies and processes.
- You will need an excellent understanding of and experience working with storage management systems both hardware and cloud based.
- An expert knowledge of Active Directories is desirable.
- You will have good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, making decisive and crucial decisions while conforming within a given framework in order to coordinate the technical response to major incidents and large-scale problemsfor your area.
- You will need management experience and the ability to lead a team of people demonstrating strong leadership skills. You must be comfortable conducting performance reviews, offering guidance and mentorship in order to build and grow the skill base of yourteam as well as being able to fulfil the role of technical lead on large-scale operational activities and projects as required.
