Co-ordinate the implementation of a Divisional clinical governance programme linked to the Trusts overall agenda. Assemble and analyse quantities and qualities information (with Divisional and Directorate leads) in order to assist staff in reflecting, and improving on service delivery and practice. For example, support production of the monthly Divisional Quality Report. In liaison with the CGRP Lead and CGRP team, assist with the compilation of relevant Divisional reports to assist with monitoring and enhancing its approach to the management of clinical quality and safety and to enable the Division to provide appropriate assurance to the Trust in relation to Clinical Quality through monthly reports to the relevant Clinical Governance, and Quality Committees.

For example, assisting with our reporting to CIC for audit, NICE guidance and GIRFT. Facilitate the downward and upward dissemination of key information at Governance and Quality Committees providing clarity regarding how they relate to clinical service units, to the Directorates and to the Division, and develop associated programmes to address and monitor the impact of any changes. For example, assist in setting the agendas for Divisional, Directorate, and speciality clinical governance meetings, and drafting our learning slides. Support the CGRP team to assist in our focus on enhancing patient experience, for example, having an overview on complaint themes and trends.

Assist the CGRP team to liaise with Directorate Leads to exercise their responsibilities for risk management across the Division. Participate in the management of an effective and appropriate Divisional and Directorate Risk Registers. Facilitate the implementation of the Trust incident reporting system within the Division, participating in incident review and providing support in the investigation of incidents where appropriate. Co-ordinate and support the management of investigations within the Division in alignment with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF).

Assist the CGRP team to consult with Divisional Clinical Leads to develop appropriate outcome measures that are monitored and reported on an ongoing basis in order to assess and develop the quality of services provided. Identify training needs within the Division (based for example on the analyses of incidents or the reports of relevant national audits) and work with the Trusts Clinical Governance Leads and Divisional colleagues to ensure that these needs are met. Assist the CGRP team to undertake and provide Clinical Governance training and educational sessions in the Division where indicated across the organisation.
