**About the role**:
This ‘Good’ Secondary SEND school, based in North Shields is looking to appoint a passionate **Learning Support Mentor **to work in Key Stage 3 and 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this Secondary SEND school as part of an established team, the desired **Learning Support Mentor **will be working with a range of pupils on a small class size and 1-to-1 basis with SEND including Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties. This full time **Learning Support Mentor **role is long term from April ongoing.
As a **Learning Support Mentor **you will:
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.
- Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities
- Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom.
- Support pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.

The aim of the school is to create a safe, pleasant and caring atmosphere in which all students can make progress and can develop their personal skills. The school aims to prepare students for an active and purposeful role in society as well as encourage and reward achievement in all areas of school life.
**Requirements**:
To be considered for the role of Learning Support Mentor you will:
- Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children.
- Experience of working with pupils with SEND.
- A passion for the progress of SEND pupils.
- An ability to work as part of a team.
- Level 2 in English and/or Maths is desirable.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
