About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Mentor to join our team at Vision for Education - Newcastle. As a Learning Support Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting the progress of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a Secondary SEND Alternative Provision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in working with students who require additional support to raise their standards of achievement.
  • Engage in positive behaviour management and encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement strategies to support students with SEN.
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH and Associated Behavioural Difficulties.
Requirements
  • Experience of working with students with SEN and/or SEMH.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • Passion for the progress of students with SEN.
  • Ability to deal with fast-paced situations and adapt to changing circumstances.
