The Early Interventions in Psychosis ( EIP) service in Nottinghamshire is delivered through a multidisciplinary team of practitioners who provide comprehensive assessments and evidence-based treatments for people aged 14-65 who are experiencing a First Episode Psychosis (FEP) or an At-Risk Mental State (ARMS) for the development of psychosis.

The EIP team is a community-based service which operates Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

The Senior Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for Psychosis will work in partnership with the Psychosis Lead and EIP Management to provide a highly specialist and high intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) for the EIP service. The CBTp Lead will utilise advanced theoretical knowledge and skills to clients within Early Interventions in Psychosis pathway (First Episode of Psychosis FEP and At-Risk Mental State (ARMS)). The post holder will provide detailed CBTp assessment, formulation and treatment as well as working in a consultative role, offering advice, clinical expertise, and clinical supervision to the wider psychosis pathway.

The post holder is expected to contribute to the development of high standards of CBTp and Clinical Practice within the Service to ensure compassionate and effective care is provided to the patients across the Directorate. The post holder should continually strive to demonstrate the integration of theory to practice in order to encourage the development of more culturally effective practitioners. The posy holder will take a lead for CBT within the ARMS pathway, working closing with EIP management team to ensure clinical oversight and governance for CBT informed interventions. The post holder would be registered with the BABCP or willing to work towards accreditation, support can be provided both practically and financially to achieve this.

The post holder will work closely with the Psychosis Lead and Operational Managers as part of the community transformation (working towards aspirations in the NHS long term plan) to access to psychologically based interventions. Ensuring the EIP and psychosis pathway meets the requirements for NICE approved evidenced based interventions, a strategic plan for training and ongoing supervision of clinical staff in the given interventions
