My client in **Truro**is looking for an experienced **Band 5 Haematology/ Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist** for a locum contract.

Job Role:

- Monday
- Friday
- 37.5 h/week
- To undertake scientific duties in any part of the Department as required in order to facilitate the smooth running of the service.
- To provide a clinical technical service by performing routine and specialist analytical testing on a range of biological samples.
- To maintain and run specialist equipment as deemed appropriate by the lead BMS.
- To provide cover for other staff members and engage in the team ethic.
- To supervise, mentor and support Trainee Biomedical Scientists and support staff.
- To support the quality management system.

Qualifications and Experience required:

- **HCPC registered as a BMS**:

- Good IT skills
- Capable of frequent and extended periods of concentration
- Works accurately with good attention to detail
- Motivated and a positive attitude to teamwork
- Ability to organise own work tasks and activities
- Calm and logical under pressure and able to cope with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Able to work well in a team
- Good interpersonal skills
- Able to assess laboratory data and authorise as appropriate
- Able to perform laboratory tasks and assays of a complex nature
