Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is part of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough ICB. It is a specialist centre for many services including trauma and orthopaedics, bone infection, major trauma, transplant surgery, molecular genetics and mitochondrial diseases to name but a few. At the core of the hospital's ethos is a focus on high quality care adhering to the Trust values of Safe, Kind and Excellent.

The Trauma and Orthopaedic department has expanded to over 25 consultants, with numerous trainees, senior and junior Clinical Fellows, specialist nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals, looking after approximately 60 inpatients at any one time. It is closely allied to Cambridge University with musculoskeletal and trauma research ongoing, channelled through the work of four professors within the department.
