The Role

This role is about ensuring that we build the capability and capacity of our research colleagues in line with our Vision and Strategy. You will lead and shape a wide range of organisational development initiatives that will enhance the University’s abilityto deliver excellence, creativity and impact through its people with a particular focus on research colleagues.

Working closely with the key internal stakeholders from research and strategy and People Engagement and Culture, you will lead on the researcher development strategy and be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of researcher development initiatives,growing research skills and nurturing careers, ensuring they are values-led and help build a research culture that is open and inclusive. Close collaboration with others working in these areas is essential.

You will also have responsibility for Organisational Development delivering its contribution to Skills Academy. This will include line management and collaborative working. Skills Academy is a key 'transformative initiative’ embedded in our Research Strategythat will coordinate and deliver relevant training and career development opportunities, catalyse interactions between research students, academics, and professional services colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and disseminate best practice across our researchcommunity.
