The Grange Care Home offers family-led residential and specialist dementia care for up to 40 residents. Situated in the Debden Grange Retirement Village, our care home is close to Saffron Walden and just a short drive from Cambridge. Led by Maria the manager, our fantastic team offer highly compassionate, personalised care, that is tailored to the needs of each individual.
**Do you have creative flare & want to make a difference everyday?**
We are looking for an Activities Coordinator with creative flare and out-of-the box thinking to organise, run events and activities for our residents. From pumpkin-carving, to budding gardening, crafts and more - no two days will ever be the same as you support our residents to try new things and ensure they feel connected with the wider community.
**What you will be doing: It’s hard to capture everything but we’ve jotted down a few key parts of the role below**:
- Undertake fundraising activity for the Residents’ Fund. Be an active member of the Residents’ Committee for Activities
- Meet targets set out to improve our resident’s lives which includes getting to know every resident through our 'Resident of the Day’ programme
- Work together with other local community groups and the wider local area.
- Organise varied activities within the Home to cater for a variety of interests and life stories for individuals, small groups and large numbers of residents.
- Bring fun, ideas, and energy into our residents’ lives Inspire others through great relationships, to deliver a range of thought-provoking wellbeing ideas
- Coordinate a wide range of trips & experiences within the local area for small groups & individuals
- Arrange key events throughout the year, such as seasonal celebrations & charity events
**About You**
We are looking for someone who is friendly, welcoming, and entertaining, and would ensure all activities are appropriate for all residents. You will be offering a supportive and caring environment, where our fabulous residents can really enjoy their life, engage with one another, and feel part of the home and wider community.
- An understanding of care sector would be advantageous
- Have a friendly & caring attitude
- Good planning & development skills
- Able to engage well with the residents and their families
- Be proactive, passionate, and supportive team player, with experience of maintaining the highest levels of customer service.
- You will be going out and about, networking, planning activities and with residents therefore having access to your own vehicle with business Insurance is essential

Due to the nature of the Activities Coordinator role, you will need to pay £26.00 towards the cost of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, prior to starting with us.
**Covid Safety**We operate COVID secure homes and have strict procedures in place to ensure the safety of all residents and staff. This includes Covid & temperature testing and wearing appropriate PPE, including a face mask to be worn at all times whilst on shift, unless medically exempt.
