Job Purpose:
Deliver our holistic range of needs-led, strengths based, trauma informed services, offering practical and emotional specialist domestic abuse support to children, young people and families who are or have experienced or been affected by domestic abuse within your designated area of responsibility across North Powys.

Proactively support the empowerment of the client and assist them in recognising the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation, to help them regain control of their lives, and to act as advocate where appropriate to their needs and wishes.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialist domestic abuse support and programmes on a 1:1 and group basis, building supportive, trusting, professional relationships with children, young people and families who have experienced, witnessed or been affected by domestic abuse, ensuring all practical and emotional support work undertaken uses a child-centred approach.

Main Duties:
Assess the risk of, and exposure to, domestic abuse, identifying the level of risk, to support the development of appropriate safety planning.

Assess the emotional and practical needs of clients and, in conjunction with them devise a bespoke support plan to address the needs identified, using therapeutic and creative ways to efficiently and effectively support clients to achieve agreed goals and measurable outcomes.

Support parents to identify and address key issues relating to their children, promoting positive parenting and the welfare of children/young people, liaising with other team members where the parent / carer is also supported by MFCC.

Promote self-advocacy with, and act as an advocate for, children / young people, supporting them to express their views and promote their rights.

Plan and prepare for group programmes and activities, adhering to project budgets.

Provide practical information and assistance to families about local specialist and generic services to widen and enhance their support networks.

Maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases, complying with data protection legislation, respect the safety, security and confidentiality of clients and staff and all records or information held.

Respect and value the diversity of the community, recognising the needs and concerns of a diverse range of survivors ensuring the service is accessible to all in line with MFCC Equal Opportunity and Diversity Policies observing the standard of conduct which prevents discrimination taking place.

Ensure that any safeguarding matters are dealt with in accordance with MFCC safeguarding policies and procedures.

Work within a multi-agency framework to improve responses to domestic violence and abuse, taking part in MARAC, Safeguarding and associated processes, developing and maintaining good working relationships with other relevant agencies.

Support colleagues and partner agencies, through awareness raising and institutional advocacy, in order to provide the best possible service for victims & survivors of domestic abuse, i.e. challenge unhelpful or damaging attitudes to understanding of Domestic Violence & Abuse.

Feedback client views to support the development and improvement of MFCC services.

Take responsibility for personal and professional development and growth with a willingness to undertake and complete relevant training and qualifications.

Participate in the 24 hour emergency On Call system.

Work flexibly when required, this will include, at times, evening and weekend work.

Health & Safety:
At all times work in a safe and efficient manner and be aware of the Lone Working Policy and the Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.

Report and address any health and safety concerns or maintenance issues in line with MFCC policies and procedures.

This job description is indicative of the range of current duties and responsibilities of the post, it is not comprehensive. It is inevitable that the duties will change as the role develops, and it is essential, therefore, that it should be regarded with a degree of flexibility, so that changing needs and circumstances can be met, all changes will be discussed fully.

**Salary**: £23,146.50-£24,121.50 per year
