Located in the stunning countryside close to Newtown is a Therapeutic Residential Home supporting children and young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and Social and Emotional Mental Health. The young people here may have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). With the support of a multi-disciplinary headed by Registered Manager and Therapeutic staff, you will provide Therapeutic support and care to the young people enabling them to build life skills, confidence and their own positive identity.

One Therapeutic approach used to support the children and young people discusses healthy living, freedom from emotional turmoil and stress and feeling good in the here and now. Activities play a large part of the day to day life within this role including visits to Theme parks, go karting, cinema trips and much more. You can get as involved as you would like to in these activities so there is something for everyone.

**Salary **between £28,000 - £29,000 including sleep ins. Plus £500 joining bonus

**Rota -** 3 on 6 off including sleep ins

**The role of EBD Children's Therapeutic Support Worker**:

- Therapeutic and Holistic engagement with the young people
- To act as positive and outstanding role model, setting an example
- To conduct key worker sessions with young people
- Support in a structure rich environment, being consistent and nurturing
- To liaise with family, teachers, social workers, Therapists etc
- Assisting the children to learn valuable life skills
- Mentoring and educating the children and young people we support
- Supporting day to day activities to help build their social and emotional skills
- Managing and understanding behaviours of concern and the reasons for them
- Awareness of stresses or abuse, monitoring, recording and reporting
- Assisting with budgeting
- Creating a therapeutic, safe and healthy environment for the young people to thrive
- Positive engagement is key to encourage the children and young adults development
- Well written and comprehensive record keeping is vital noting behavioural changes

**Requirements of EBD Children's Therapeutic Support Worker**:

- Must be a driver with a full UK driving licence
- Preferred but not required to have 6 months experience working in residential childcare
- Understanding of looked after children, safeguarding and trauma
- Hold or be open to studying towards a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- Flexibility to work to a rolling rota of 3 on 6 off
