We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at our Gloucestershire Housing Service.

Your role will be a fixed based position working from our Housing Service in Cheltenham. You will work full time, 28 hours per week on a permanent contract with a salary of £18,090.60 to £19,860.93. You can read more about the rewards you will receive on the full advert on our website.

Our Gloucestershire Supported Housing service offers independent, quality housing to tenants with mental health needs. We support people to achieve personal goals, offer emotional and practical support with day-to-day living, and help develop skills to live independently in the community in order to build a meaningful quality of life as defined by them.

How will you make a difference?

Providing key worker support to individuals living with mental illness, including one to one individual or group support, liaising with other mental health agencies on behalf of people who use our services

Enabling individuals to self-manage their personal and domestic resources and to undertake activities of daily living

Enabling and encouraging individuals to find out about local services and facilities within their community and facilitate access to alternative services where specific needs are identified

Ensuring you are familiar with individual Care/Recovery Plans and support people who use our services in achieving their goals

Working with service users in developing, reviewing, monitoring and adapting support and safety plans

Undertaking assessments in conjunction with statutory partners as appropriate to identify housing related support needs of those referred to the service

Contributing to the protection of individuals from the risk of abuse and harm to self and others who use our services

Encouraging service users to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect their mental wellbeing and physical health

Who I am?

Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.

Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and embedding the ethos of recovery into your own practice.

The ability to make a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s situation and needs; to develop, implement and review risk management plans and devise support plans to meet these needs.
