**About the role**
Our Front Line Delivery Officers are responsible for delivering hot meals to vulnerable, disabled, and elderly clients across North Somerset. We are looking for our drivers to be reliable team players, who are caring and able to communicate easily with vulnerable clients.
You will be provided with a free uniform and use of a work vehicle for the delivery period.
Duties would typically include operating fleet vehicles within a prearranged, structured schedule to convey passengers, or deliver goods and welfare services.
Other duties will include:
- to ensure daily work instructions are acknowledged and both planning and preparations for operational deployment are undertaken.
- to effectively deliver front line services to service users in accordance with a journey plan, timetable and/or a delivery manifest, in a timely manner and with a customer focused approach.
- to undertake client welfare checks at each engagement in line with agreed protocols and instructions on the schedule/plan, reporting any incidents and communicating any variances in accordance with council policy.
- to use the ICT equipment/systems provided to allow quality monitoring to be undertaken of the services provided.
- where appropriate, to support services in the upkeep and housekeeping and general maintenance of council assets, such as vehicles, public transport infrastructure and communal areas.
You will be fully supported with training and shadowing opportunities as part of an induction and be part of a dedicated staff team.
**Maintaining a current, valid driving licence (minimum of a Category B) is an essential condition for this role**.**
**About you**
You will be working in a front facing and customer focused service within the Integrated Transport Unit (ITU). You should be confident in working independently but also a keen team player. Being a clear and strong communicator that offers experience and understanding of supporting vulnerable people will be beneficial to the role. We are keen to invite interest that can demonstrate transferable skills within your career to date although full training and continuous professional development is offered.
