**Job summary**:
The Associate Director - Real World Evidence Methods has a key role in delivering NICE’s ambition to be part of a system that constantly learns from data and implementation. The post holder will deliver a programme of work that will improve NICE’s use of real-world evidence in the development of health and care guidance.

The role has a significant focus on translating new methods into day-to-day practice, and therefore the post holder will establish close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders so that NICE’s methods reflect robust approaches to using real world evidence.

**This role can be based in either our Manchester or London office (2nd Floor, 2 Redman Place **_London_** E20 1JQ).**

**Job description**:
The Associate Director - Real World Evidence Methods will be responsible for a programme of work that will transform NICE’s use of real-world evidence. The responsibilities include:

- Leading the development of high-quality guidance on methodological practice, including further development of NICE’s real-world evidence framework.
- Working with internal stakeholders to include guidance on robust use of real-world evidence in NICE’s guideline and health technology evaluation manuals and work with colleagues from across NICE to drive these changes.
- Developing training and upskilling programmes for staff and committee members.
- Developing, leading and contributing to scientific research and demonstration projects in collaboration with external partners.
- Identifying the need for further research or guidance on prioritised topics, commissioning work where appropriate, and overseeing the management of contracts and working relationships with external suppliers including NICEs external assessment centres.
- Identifying opportunities for funding and developing bids to support further activities within the scope of the Programme and managing expenditure.
