**This role entails**

We have an exciting opportunity to come and join the test engineering team in the capacity of Test Lead. This is a role for someone who will be working with the team to own testing within the Planet V programme. A strong quality mindset is required for this role to ensure robust high quality standards are maintained throughout the Agile deliveries by the teams working on the programme.

You will work closely with the Planet V product and engineering teams to ensure they maintain a shift-left approach to testing. You will be friendly, approachable, honest, firm & above all, passionate. You will have a desire to learn new things and the ability to transfer your skills through mentoring of others.

You will work closely with the Head of QA and test team leaders from other programmes to continually improve processes, share ideas, transfer skills & improve collaboration throughout the wider estate.
- You will lead a team of quality assurance and software testing professionals, maintaining the existing processes, standards and approach required to ensure the quality of delivered software..
- You will help to drive quality engineering, exploratory testing and test automation throughout Planet V with a focus on improving quality..
- You will lead and champion technical, process and procedural improvements that drive software quality and deliver value.
- You will support the product and engineering teams across the engagement and build strong relationships with your peers throughout the testing organisation.
- You will help to drive every story through to successful acceptance & deployment to production.
- You will help plan and estimate all testing tasks with your team and be a key contributor to deliver the overall test strategy.

**To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills**:
**Minimum role criteria**:

- Experience of leading test teams, working with product & engineering teams to improve quality in complex systems.
- Solid background in test automation tools & techniques, ideally with experience of Cypress / Playwright or an equivalent framework.
- Knowledge and experience of using BDD, Cucumber & Gherkin.
- Agile delivery using Scrum.
- Some knowledge of performance test scripting, execution & analysis.
- Extensive knowledge using Jira to manage & report.
- Managing people & hiring new team members.
- Extensive experience of working in cross-functional teams and the delivery of scalable, robust digital products.
