The Business Support Team collectively provides administrative and financial support to a range of professionals based at any of our four sites: Badminton Road, The Kingswood Centre, Patchway Hub or Kingswood Hub.

You will be supporting professionals within Social Care and Preventative Services, as well as Education, working together to ensure the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and adults within South Gloucestershire. You will make a difference by ensuring that officers are supported in a timely and efficient manner and are able to provide an efficient service to ensure the best possible outcomes.

**What will you be doing?**
- On a daily basis, you will be supervising the Business Support Officers, allocating and checking their work and providing a wide range of administrative and financial tasks, with the aim of providing an efficient and consistent support service for staff and managers across the department.
- In the role you will organise and ensure there is sufficient cover to enable the department to provide an effective service, which will include developing staff and ensuring timely and accurate completion of work.
- You will have the responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day specialised database, the financial services and general administrative support requirements for the department and will use in-house databases to keep records updated and accurate.
- Conducting research and collation of information for reports, you will assist officers in drafting documentation across a variety of work areas including children’s and adults social service teams, education, special educational needs and health.
- You will be expected to lead on customer relations and communicate any issues to senior members of staff, as well as monitoring and maintaining records for the team, which may include performance, sickness, annual leave etc.
- It will be your responsibility to participate with 1-1’s, PDPR’s and assist with the recruitment of staff for the teams you supervise.

- It is essential that you hold a minimum qualification of 3 grade C’s at GCSE, including English and Maths, or equivalent, or have experience of working in a similar environment.
- You will be able to collate information from a variety of sources and present findings.
- You must be able to prioritise workloads to meet peaks in demand and flexible and resilient to be able to meet deadlines.
- It is key that you have good communication skills and have good literacy skills, to be able to contribute to writing clear, accurate and concise reports.
- You will have effective IT and numeracy skills including the ability to accurately update information systems and databases.
