We are delighted to be recruiting for a Welfare Rights Officer to join our busy Welfare Support Team, within the Revenues, Benefits & Welfare Service.
The postholder will be responsible for identifying and implementing appropriate take-up campaigns and financial inclusion work to support income maximisation including representation at Social Security Appeal Tribunals. The role will involve forming a judgement in sometimes difficult and complex circumstances, taking account of a range of information, legislation sources and conflicting aims and objectives.
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council issues and collects council tax and business rates from around 90,000 households and 5,700 businesses every year to fund the delivery of its services across the borough. The Revenues, Benefits and Welfare Service supports the most financially vulnerable of the borough’s residents, administering a wide range of welfare support schemes.

Due to the requirement to undertake home visits, an essential requirement for the role is a full driving licence that’s valid to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle.
