Previous Critical Care or High Dependency knowledge and skill would be highly advantageous for this post holder.

Flexible work is possible within Monday to Friday, the nature of the orthopaedic work is planned elective surgery during this time. Saturday working is possible as desired but not essential.

If you have a passion for teaching and have previously worked in Critical care/HDU we would love to hear from you and welcome you to come and join our team to share those skills.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new and developing service. You will be integral in working with the existing PDN and Deputy Matron to do this.

The post-holder will be an experienced, knowledgeable practitioner who provides clinically based practice development and education to the non-medical workforce. They will role model best, evidence-based professional practice. Clinical education support for all ‘learners at the bedside’ is a substantial part of this role.

The clinical educator will identify and support the learning needs of their clinical area. The clinical educator is key to ensuring the clinical area is a positive learning environment through acting as an expert resource, ensuring local training resources are appropriate and up-to-date, and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team and senior colleagues.

Specific education interventions will be provided and may be co-developed with the senior practice development and education team. They will also assist in coordinating the delivery and evaluation of training. The clinical educator is key to ensuring training is grounded in good practice and will be involved in the education element of clinical governance and quality assurance.

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family.
