**About the Role**:
**Reports to**: Director of Governance and Trustee Activities
**Job purpose**:To provide support to the Governance & Trustee Activities team

**The team**
The governance team is responsible for:

- working with the Managing Director and Executive Operations Director to support the work programme of the Trustees, including reviews of governance and constitutional arrangements. This includes supporting the delivery of the Trustee and Trustee Committee meetings by managing their administration, logistics, preparation, and follow-up.
- supporting the Chair of the Trustees’ Due Process Oversight Committee (DPOC) in managing the agenda and work of the DPOC Committee, the committee responsible for the oversight of the technical activities of the IASB and the ISSB.
- supporting the Chair of the Trustees’ Nominating Committee in managing the work of the Nominating Committee, the committee responsible for recommending nominations and nomination procedures to the Trustees.
- maintaining and updating governance processes and documentation.

**Principle Accountabilities**:

- Facilitate meetings relating to the Due Process Handbook with Trustees, Board and staff members, and external stakeholders. Draft, collate, and distribute meeting materials. Present topics and participate in discussions. Take minutes and write summaries.
- Undertake research and analysis on a range of project activities in relation to the Due Process Handbook. Prepare supporting materials and presentations, and present them to the team and wider staff.
- Develop an understanding to provide practical advice in the context of the IFRS Foundation’s due process procedures.
- Provide support to the team as and when required (e.g. for other Trustee and Committee meetings, or other projects).
- Respond to internal and external queries, drafting and gaining agreement to replies as necessary.

**Skills and attributes**:

- High level of attention to detail, strong English writing skills, and the ability to draft papers, policies, and reports clearly and succinctly.
- Research acumen and advanced skills in collecting and analysing data.
- Excellent standard of oral English with the ability to effectively participate in meetings through listening, influencing, and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
- Strong team ethic, and ability to work collaboratively with other teams and across the organisation.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work/time effectively and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to present analysis, findings, recommendations, and proposals to senior audiences.
- Ability to question and challenge thinking in a proactive manner that draws out key issues and questions whilst maintaining personal relationships.
- Positive and flexible attitude; high degree of integrity and professionalism; ability to remain composed under pressure.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to think on one’s feet and ensure that any issues are dealt with in the best interests of the organisation.

**Qualifications and experience**:
**Essential**:

- Some experience in the field of governance or a related field.
- A genuine interest in (any one of): standard-setting, governance, policy, or compliance.
- Educated to degree level.

**Preferred**:

- Awareness of the role of the IFRS Standards.
- Familiarity with accounting-related literature, sustainability disclosures, or policy.
- Experience in a busy rigorous environment, ideally in academia, accounting, finance, standard-setting, or regulation.
