**Ecommerce Assistant**

**Salary Scale ** **£20,929 pro rata**

This is enabled by provision of the highest standard of compassionate and evidence-based specialist palliative and end of life care for adults in Calderdale who have active, progressive life limiting illness. _

**Job Summary**

This role involves supporting the Ecommerce Manager to increase income for the Hospice, delivering maximum profit from various online sales platforms and local auction houses.

The post holder will work with various teams to identify and sell items with the aim of continually raising the Hospice’s online sales presence and implementing new trading revenue channels.

**Minimum Qualifications / Experience Required**

Educated to GCSE level Grade C above or equivalent.

Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a commercial retail/ ecommerce or digital marketing role.

Experience of selling online and through other sales platforms.

**Duties and Responsibilities of the Post**:
Work with the Ecommerce Manager to maximise Gift Aid potential through effective management of the process, ensuring all Gift Aid and HMRC rules are always adhered to.

Support the Ecommerce Manager on the day-to-day running of the online platforms, including sourcing stock, researching and accurate listings.

Ensure first class customer service levels are always maintained, with positive engagement with customers, donors, and supporters, striving for 100% positive feedback/ high seller ratings.

Working with the Ecommerce Manager to explore new avenues, platforms, and opportunities for increasing income, always promoting the Hospice.

Work with the Ecommerce Manager to implement agreed stock generation initiatives.

Work the Donation centre and shop teams in identifying items for selling through the Ecommerce platforms.

Photograph, list, sell and post items for sale on various sites.

Maintain effective stock management processes that increase the productivity of the department.

Work with the Ecommerce Manager to ensure correct pricing strategies for listings and couriers are utilised to ensure maximum income and sales are achieved.

Oversee the timely collection and dispatch of items to ensure efficient posting of items to customers.

Ensure up to date awareness of online sales and Gift Aid performances against budgets.

Support volunteers in the Ecommerce team, working the Hospice volunteer services team.

Ensure high standards of security, maintenance and housekeeping of online sales area’s are maintained at all times.

Maintain high standards of cash handling, banking, stock control and staff purchase policy.

Regular use of social media platforms to advertise the online sales to a wider audience.

Attend and support fundraising and retail events.

**Other Responsibilities**

Attend all mandatory training and any training deemed appropriate regarding the Retail department and the Hospice.

Be willing to undertake further education and training as part of professional development to meet the demands of the role.

Identify any training needs for volunteers and yourself. To read, understand and comply with all Hospice Policies and Procedures.

To maintain strict confidentiality in all matters relating to the Hospice, its business, patients, staff, and others.

Any other activity as requested by line manager.

**General Duties & Responsibilities**

Overgate Hospice is a no smoking organisation.

The employee must maintain a safe working environment in accordance with Overgate Hospices Health and Safety policies & abide by the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974).

The employee must attend annual mandatory training sessions.

The employee must ensure that they comply with all Hospice policies and procedures at all times & participate in the development and implementation of Hospice policies.

The employee must be actively involved in Hospice Governance and support the audit cycle.

Employees must demonstrate commitment to their own personal development and are required to make a positive contribution to fundraising and raising the profile of the Hospice locally and nationally.

Employees must adhere to the Hospice’s Standards of Behaviour Framework in all aspects of their work.

Work closely with the Volunteer Services Coordinator as appropriate to ensure that any volunteers are supported in their roles, addressing any issues as they arise.

Use all Hospice resources economically and cost effectively.
