We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Assistant to join our team.

You will be happy to work with what we have initially, in terms of data and processes, and you will want to support the refinement of our ways of working to be more effective and efficient.


What You'll do:

You will be part of a small team reporting to the Goods Inwards Team Leader.

You will be responsible for controlling the flow of stock throughout the warehouse and moving and handling items safely, accurately, and efficiently.


Role overview:

Duties include.

  • Checking off incoming stock deliveries and monitoring consistency of product quality and safety.
  • Assisting with shipping and receiving tasks, including unloading, and loading vehicles and putting away in appropriate locations.
  • Replenishing and overflowing of stock and assisting with internal location moves and stock takes.
  • Performing warehouse inventory controls using scanners and computers.
  • Helping with the picking and fulfilment of customer orders.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety standards are always met.
  • Working to strict standards of warehouse cleaning along with other general warehouse duties
  • Supporting offsite shed installations where needed.
  • Adhering to the companies Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Procedures and follow those outlined in the schools/settings visited.

Special Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferable but not essential as training will be provided. You will need to lift and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • You should possess good IT Skills and a knowledge of software and devices.
  • Good numeracy, oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • You will be flexible and display a willingness to take on a variety of tasks and see these through to completion.
  • Able to use simple power tools such as a drill and screwdriver.
  • Possess a full UK driving licence proven delivery driver experience an advantage.
  • Forklift licence desirable.


Please note, due to the nature of this role, the company will undertake regular DBS checks to ensure your suitability to work in contexts where children and vulnerable adults are present.


Contract Type:
Permanent - 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday), plus additional hours as required.

Hourly Rate:
£ £11.44 per hour

Location:
Elland, West Yorkshire, with some travel.
