**Salary**: Circa £50,000 per annum negotiable depending on experience

**Contract**: 12-month fixed term contract

**Location**: Hybrid - flexibility to work from home or at any of these locations (London, Bristol, Manchester and Harwell)

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our clients in Non
- Charity Organisation section for a Finance Business Plartner.

**About the role**:
This role is in CSE, Customer Sector Enablement Directorate. The team makeup is two Finance Business Partners, that report into the Commercial Finance Director, and an Assistant Finance Business Partner. This role is responsible for Open Athens, Data Analytics and Student Services our three main income areas.

The Finance Business Partner (‘FBP’) ensures that financial reports for internal and external users accurately reflect the financial position of the company. You will build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with senior managers in the business and their teams. You will drive financial management and insight, including identifying possible areas for focus and improvement and develop cost mitigation, income generation or risk management strategies.

There is the requirement to travel to one of our client offices once a week (London hub or Bristol Hub).

Tasks

**Responsibilities will include**:
Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Review of month end journals including accruals and prepayments
- Producing monthly management reporting for your directorate/s with insightful commentary and variance analysis of the results. Identifying risks and opportunities and advising accordingly
- To lead the annual budgeting and twice annual forecasting exercises for your business area, challenging business assumptions as appropriate

Financial advice and control
- Working collaboratively with the wider finance business partner team to promote and share business partnering ideas, learnings, experiences and best practice
- Provide financial input into strategic, tactical and operational business cases to aid decision making processes in the business and plans within the directorates

Other
- Working with the finance transformation programme to improve reporting functionality. Testing to ensure they are robust and accurately pick up all data
- Support the deputy CFO and group financial controller in ensuring that risk management, internal control and governance procedures are followed and act as the first line of defence for financial management

**Requirements**:
**Key Skills and Experience**:

- Experience in a similar role including managing multiple stakeholders with varying levels of financial expertise
- Demonstratable experience preparing forecast and budget information
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to build effective relationships across different levels of the organisation
- Fully qualified accountant or equivalent (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAI)
