**Finance Business Partner Inside**IR35**

**Contract Term: 6 Months**

**Contracting Authority: DVSA**

**Location**:Nottingham, Swansea or Bristol - Hybrid**

**As a **Finance Business Partner **your main responsibilities would be**:
**Management Accounting**
- Support the preparation, and presentation of in-year financial information into the monthly financial reports
- Lead on the interpretation of in-year financial information from the monthly financial reporting pack
- Provide assurance on integrity of information on financial systems, advising on the correct accounting treatment of complex transactions
- Provide financial analysis and insight, through meaningful variance analysis commentary including risk management, mitigating actions, deep dives, or financial modelling
- Working closely with the HR Business Partner, consider and provide financial assurance regarding staff cost forecasts. Support risk-based decision making and work with the Directorate to ensure that staff cost forecasts are realistic and achievable.
- Ensure effective controls are in place to maintain accuracy of data in financial systems and in-year timetables are met
- Ensure team delivers the month end activities in a timely manner and to the required standard

**Finance Business Partnering**
- Developing an understanding of the business, its stakeholders and deliverables
- Building and maintaining relationships with customer budget holders
- Translating, owning and adding insight to financial data to provide clear information and evidence to support business activities and requirements
- Providing guidance at appropriate level budget holder meetings and boards
- Reviewing and providing input to business cases/ strategic documentation

**Business Planning (25%)**
- Support directorates, projects and services with regard to production of Spending Reviews responses, medium term financial plans (MTFPs) and Supplementary Estimates ensuring they reflect the Agency's Strategic objectives

**Cross Finance Support (15%)**
- Relationships built will facilitate constructive challenge of the business and bridge into other areas of finance including central strategic finance (DfT) and HM Treasury.

**You’ll have relevant experience in**:

- Experience of working to a monthly management accounting timetable - e.g., meetings with budget holders, general ledger accounting for accruals / corrections, forecasting etc
- Ability to communicate effectively to wide range of stakeholder, acting as a translator of the ‘language of finances’ to the business.
- Experience of using facts and evidence to aid negotiation and influencing e.g., forecasting, business cases, decision making
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant
