Summary This is an exciting opportunity to join the facilities team at the West Dorset portfolio and support the delivery of our building projects and compliance schedule. The responsibilities of our team are wide-ranging and no day tends to be like the other, soif you like to multitask and think on your feet this might be the role for you. This year we are hoping to start a volunteer maintenance team and if you have experience in carrying out maintenance tasks or leading volunteer teams this would be a bonus.
Your contractual location will be Max Gate in Dorchester, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. You'll be expected to also travel to other sites acrossthe whole portfolio and attend meetings and support collaborative working.
**This is a 12-month fixed term role for 30 hours a week.**
What it's like to work here The West Dorset Portfolio incorporates 32 countryside locations as well as our literary houses Max Gate, Hardy’s Cottage and Clouds Hill. We also have office facilities at Filcombe Farm in Morcombelake, just underneath Golden Cap and support the NationalTrust Shop in Lyme Regis.
You will be joining a busy facilities team that covers the whole of the portfolio and works closely with colleagues in the houses and the countryside.

What you'll be doing As the Facilities Co-ordinator, you’ll support the delivery of an efficient and flexible facilities service to enable the successful operation of the portfolio. You’ll be working closely with the facilities manager and support the team to meet its objectivesby ensuring high standards are delivered and maintained at all times.
You’ll be assisting with the delivery of
planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs
compliance tasks and ensuring that the portfolio meets all legal requirements
organising and supervising contractors
caretaking duties
building up a volunteer maintenance team
The role also involves compliance tracking, risk assessments, waste management and meter reading.

- Experience in a facilities role in a customer service environment

- Willingness to work alongside volunteers and is able to support volunteers to perform at their best
- Ability to multi-task and work well in a team, including in collaboration with other departments
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
