We work across a fascinating, fast-moving sector and have a range of tools available to oversee firms and tackle risks.

These firms provide a range of services from merchant acquiring to non-bank payment service providers for consumers, small medium enterprises (SME’s), and large corporates. The department supervises firms to identify and address regulatory concerns ranging from prudential weaknesses to lack of financial crime systems and controls. Operating in a fast-paced environment, the department co-ordinates with colleagues across the FCA, international regulators and law enforcement agencies to protect consumers and the wider financial services industry.

- Participating in collaboration with law enforcement agencies and regulatory authorities both domestic and international, using FCA powers to reduce and prevent harm
- Contributing to projects that help to facilitate BAU work, ranging from developing processes, frameworks, and strategies serving a range of operational and regulatory objectives

What you will get from the role
- The opportunity to shape and deliver the supervision of a fast-changing, diverse portfolio and gain insight into cutting edge business models and innovation across each sector
- Working in a friendly and supportive directorate overseeing exciting sectors
- Building supervisory experience, such as use of relevant regulatory tools, taking ownership and justifying case decisions, using influencing skills to secure good outcomes from stakeholders and presenting to senior management on high profile work
- Developing knowledge of a fast-moving sector, including a strong understanding of the technology, and international regulation behind it
- Experience inputting into a wide variety of internal requests, such as information for international law enforcement agencies, FOI requests, press or media briefings, and more
