**Job Description**:
Our Innovation and Analytics Lab works closely with a variety of other functions and teams throughout Wood Mackenzie. We work on interesting, challenging, and important problems that affect the energy and natural resources industries. Our work covers a variety of topics such as climate, electricity, shipping, oil & gas operations, and macroeconomics.

**About the role**:
This role will allow you the opportunity to explore data, create visualisations, and develop machine learning in a collaborative environment. Our team has consciously developed a supportive and inclusive culture to help you succeed in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop and / or use various algorithms to build predictive models within a variety of business domains
- Collaboratively perform analyses of structured and unstructured data to solve multiple complex business problems using advanced statistical and mathematics techniques
- Use knowledge in algorithms and predictive models to investigate problems, detect patterns, and recommend solutions
- Use programming & data engineering skills to explore, examine, prepare, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms
- Design, prototype, and productize data sets that are used for advanced analytics

**Qualifications**:
Studying toward a Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification with a quantitative, statistical, and/or Data Science focus

- Hands-on modelling experience building machine learning models
- Exposure to/ knowledge of:

- Languages/packages: Python, SQL, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch / TensorFlow / Keras, Plotly / Matplotlib, Jupyter
- Algorithms: Classification, Regression, Clustering, Neural Networks, Time Series, Ensemble Models, Feature Selection & Extraction, Mathematical Optimization, etc.
- Version control: Git
