**Job summary**:

- Operating as part of a cohesive operational team, the surveillance and Investigator operatives are able to successfully deliver proactive operations utilising the full spectrum of tools and techniques available to covert investigation specialists. The NCA is at the forefront of law enforcement in the UK, protecting the public from the most serious criminal threats by disrupting or bringing to justice those serious and organised criminals who present the highest risk to our communities.**Job description**:
Our officers are highly skilled, dedicated and tenacious investigators.

NCA Surveillance and Investigator Operatives respond to a broad range of threats including Organised Immigration Crime, Human Trafficking, Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse, Firearms and Drugs amongst others in a varied and dynamic environment and undertake a critical role identifying intelligence and evidential opportunities in support of investigation leads.

It is a challenging role requiring a flexible approach to working long and varied hours, often at short notice, operating from locations within England & Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

**Person specification**:
**Main responsibilities**:

- They will have a range of surveillance qualifications, with some being specialists in technical, rural and/or motorcyclist surveillance.
- There is a key requirement to Investigate Serious and organised crime and therefore casework duties will be required.
- The officers will deploy to undertake a range of surveillance deployments in support of NCA operations across England, Wales, Scotland and NI.

**Licences**:

- Advanced driver or military/other agency similar standard.**Qualifications**:

- The following qualifications/skills are essential to the role and proof will be required at interview:
- Current/Active PIP1 or an equivalent recognised qualification/accreditation in investigative crime issued by a Government body.
- Q1 (Q100) Surveillance trained College of Policing Surveillance Operative or UK law enforcement, military or Intelligence agency certified equivalent.

Please confirm you have been deployed for surveillance in either an operation or training environment on a minimum of two days during a six month rolling period. (Ideally, officers should have been deployed within the last 2 years but we are interested in officers with strong operational backgrounds and may consider experience obtained in the last 4 years).
- OR- Q1 (Q100) Surveillance trained College of Policing Surveillance Operatives or military or other agency certified equivalent.

Please confirm you have been deployed for surveillance in either an operation or training environment on a minimum of two days during a six month rolling period. - Able to demonstrate extensive experience of working as a surveillance operative in a highly pressurised environment.
- Demonstrate evidence of having worked as a productive and positive member of a task orientated team or number of teams, in challenging law enforcement or military or other equivalent operating environment and having delivered on the task.
- Demonstrate experience of making an individual decision in a testing operational scenario, which enhanced the outcome of the operation.
- Demonstrate awareness, knowledge or experience of managing risk in an operational environment.
