An exciting opportunity has arisen to join UHDB(University Hospitals of Derby and Burton) outpatient Therapy Team.

The role is a full-time position with options of flexible working. This is a maternity cover for 10 months but may extend to 11 months with the potential of a future permanent part-time position.

The post is for a band 6 hand therapist based with the hand team at Queens Hospital Burton. This is open for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to apply.

You must have experience in treating acute hand therapy referrals following trauma, degenerative conditions and post hand surgery. The team see adults and children, work alongside the consultants at Queens Hospital Burton site, and work with the hand Specialists both at Derby & Burton.

You will be supported with training, regular clinical supervision, be encouraged to contribute to service development and clinical audit, and be part of the wider dynamic and innovative Musculoskeletal & rheumatology team

Manage, plan & prioritise patient care and own caseload

Provide specialist assessment, clinical reasoning and treatment for a variety of hand conditions, post operatively, post fracture, degenerative conditions and post trauma.

Work with the hand therapy & therapy admin team, fracture clinic and orthopaedic MDT

Provide support to band 5 / students and assistants

Support training and service development

Provide assessment and treatment to a variety of hand conditions, acute, traumatic, post op and degenerative.

To use face to face, video and phone appointment methods and document electronically.

Work with fracture clinic, ED, orthopaedics hand surgeons and Hand Therapy team.

Independently manage your own caseload, plan & prioritise patient care.
