High Pavement Building Officer

We are seeking a flexible and motivated building officer to work at High Pavement House, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the newly established Maker Space which will be opening in April 2024 as well as working with the Inspire Learning Team.
This post will be responsible for the day-to-day building tasks at High Pavement House, including opening and closing the building, assisting with regular building checks. The role also includes preparing meeting rooms ready for hire, moving furniture and general janitorial and cleaning duties. You will work Monday to Friday, and be based at High Pavement House, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Notts.

**Job Purpose**
- To provide building management and caretaking support for the High Pavement Maker Space Sutton in Ashfield ensuring a safe and secure environment for users.
- To provide building support for events, workshops and learning programmes in liaison with Inspire Learning and Volunteers.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Maintain a booking system for use of facilities and ensure equipment is set up and safe to use while also ensuring that the Maker Space is clean, tidy and well ordered, including daily cleaning of the Maker Space.
- Act as the first point of contact for information about the Maker Space, and to liaise with asset and facilities management service at Ashfield District Council.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and good practice and to provide PPE for purchase as required.
- Ensure that the building is secure, and that the intruder alarm is set before leaving the premises including the management of the CCTV system and the maintenance of security.
- Ensure a fire evacuation plan is maintained and all fire exits are clear of any obstructions.
- Liaise with the Maker Space Committee to ensure members are complying with policy and good practice.
- Changing and adapting room layouts as required to suit booking requirements including clearance and storage of furniture after use.
The post holder will work in accordance with all Inspire policies and procedures, Inspire brand guidelines, contractual requirements, and professional best practice.
**Education and Knowledge Required for the role**
- Relevant qualification to level 3
**Skills and Experience**
- At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar environment.
- At least 2 years working with the public / learners / volunteers
- Physically able to carry out the duties as described.
- Ability to drive will be required.
**Role Dimensions**
- Deliver excellent support for the Maker Space
- Support users with day-to-day support in safe use of the building
- Ensure safe and secure operations of the centre
- Working with Maker Space committee, volunteers and the Inspire Learning team
