Skills:

The London Borough of Waltham Forest is looking for an experienced Project Manager to help us deliver on our commitments to tackling the Climate Emergency set out in the Council's new Climate Action Plan. We are the first generation to feel the effects ofclimate change but the last who can do something

about it. Waltham Forest Council plan to dramatically reduce the carbon emissions in our borough. This will be a huge challenge, but we have strong political support - Climate Change is a top Council Priority - and a clear plan of action. Now we need newteam to lead this transformation - this role will be essential to make our ambition a reality.

You will co-ordinate and deliver projects to tackle the causes of climate change (reducing our carbon emissions) and the consequences of climate change (building resilience to deal with a changing climate).

Example projects include a new climate crowdfunding scheme, a zero-interest retrofit loan, increasing car sharing, reducing flood risk and increasing the biodiversity of our open spaces. The role will require delivering on multiple high priority projectsand working with many different teams.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong leadership skills, be passionate about delivering projects that support our residents, and be able to work collaboratively across organisational boundaries. You will have experience of managing projectsand programmes, have an understanding of change and enablement initiatives, be able to demonstrate successful implementation, and have in-depth knowledge and experience of all stages of the project and programme lifecycle, especially change and enablementrequirements to deliver strategic objectives within projects and programmes.

You will have outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder management and influencing skills, with an ability to convey complex information to a diverse range of audiences and deliver difficult messages whist maintaining ownership, governance and buy-in.

You will be a keen problem solver with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

You will be able to operate and thrive in an environment with high levels of ambiguity and possess resilience to bounce back from difficult situations.
