London, United Kingdom Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust Full time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new and dynamic role as a Healthcare Support Worker / Unit Administrator in our Mental Health Crisis Assessment Service (MHCAS).

Please note that the service is presently based at St. Charles Hospital near Ladbroke Grove, however, in the next 12 months, it may be relocated to a facility in Victoria / Pimlico area.

MHCAS - launched on 28th November 2022 and grown from strength to strength. The service model is essentially an Emergency Department for people presenting in Mental Health Crisis. Our aim is to provide a more therapeutic alternative to Accident and Emergency departments whilst facilitating rapid assessment and planning of ongoing care / support for our patients.

As you can imagine as an Emergency Department, every day is different and service demands fluctuate, hence the rationale for this new dual role. Both the support worker role and administration duties are essential for the provision of consistent, safe and high quality care.

We are seeking 3 individuals that are dynamic and flexible to the needs of the service. Able to use their initiative to work both independently and as part of a team. An understanding of or a willingness to learn the importance of maintaining clinical supplies and responsibilities for overseeing the following up of maintenance issues and good office management.

This role will require you to be rostered for a variety of shifts, 9 -5, long days and nights.

The post holder will provide supportive care management and work with a supervisor allocated to a group of service users as delegated by the Deputy Ward Manager/ Nurse in Charge or registered practitioner.

To provide efficient and effective administrative support to the ward, this includes handling documents of a confidential nature. Perform a variety of administration duties as defined in the principal responsibilities of the post.

Any other duties that may be delegated as appropriate to the nature and grading of the post.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.

The boroughs of both Kensington (& Chelsea) and Westminster are well-connected with excellent transportation links, allowing for easy access to Central London and beyond. These boroughs are the place where you can thrive both professionally and personally, surrounded by a lively community and endless opportunities for leisure and entertainment.
