The post holder is expected to participate in elective theatres and on call activity in addition to area of interest. Example job plan: Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday AM Theatre Specialty* SPA Theatre/Flexi PM Theatre Specialty* Theatre/Flexi Specialty*-Dependant on area e.g. Obstetrics, ITU, etc. (Please refer to job plan appendix) 7.5 DCC, 1.5 SPA and 1 PA On Call=10 PA On call duties: 1.0 PA's are included each week for on Call duties, this was established from Consultant-on-call diaries and will be continuously reviewed.

Consultant anaesthetists currently work 1:19 on-call rota with prospective cover. After hours duties include Intensive Care, Theatres and Maternity cover. The department is ultimately committed to separating the consultant-on-call for ICU and Theatres/Maternity. This post will attract a job plan of 10 PA's of which 8.5 will be direct patient care.

Further clinical sessions may be undertaken by mutual consent and with suitable recompense. This job plan may be amended in consultation with the post holder as Trust developments evolve, and as part of the appraisal process
