Youth Voice Network Officer

London, United Kingdom Mind Full time

**Permanent - 35 Hours**

We have big goals over the next few years.

We’re going to be fighting for mental health in a way we never have before.

Together we’ll be working to make sure everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets the support and respect they deserve.

**Will you join us?**

You will work with our Youth Voice Network team and Lived Experience unit to drive the organisation forward in our ambitions to become an influential advocate for young people’s rights, supporting young people with a focus on trauma and create more opportunities for young people to lead our work.

The Youth Voice Network team are dedicated to listening to young people with varied experiences and backgrounds, proactively seeking out the voices of underrepresented groups. We ensure they have the tools, encouragement and platforms to meaningfully influence leaders and decisions that affect them and their mental health on a national and local level. We take a rights-based approach, empowering young people to have their voices heard and to make lasting impact in their communities.

The post holder will:

- Enable and empower young people aged 11 - 25 to shape and lead on Mind’s work so that it is directly informed by the lived experiences of young people at both a local and national level.
- Develop Mind’s capacity and skills across the organisation to work with young people.
- Work with colleagues to support the delivery of the team’s various projects and initiatives.
- Communicate and work with people from a range of backgrounds, including minority ethnic backgrounds.

**Closing date: 6th February 2023**

**The post is available for home or office-based working**

This position is in line with current guidance, the post holders will be expected to be in the office a minimum of two days (or more, depending on the arrangements of your team) but this role will retain some flexibility working from home (hybrid working).

**Equality & Diversity**

We value the power of diversity. We embrace the different perspectives that each of us bring. We are creating an inclusive working environment where everyone is appreciated for being authentic and bringing their whole selves to work regardless of race, gender, age, religion, identity and experience.

We are committed to becoming truly anti-racist in everything we do and ensuring that all our employees are treated fairly and equitably at work and promoting equity in physical and mental health for all.
