An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Office of Police and Crime Commissioner for Lincolnshire (the OPCC) as a Compliance and Governance Officer.

This is a varied and challenging role in a small but friendly team. You will need to be highly organised with a willingness to be pro-active and take responsibility, have a good eye for detail and strong sense of quality assurance, mixed with great communication skills both in writing and in person.

There will be the day-to-day governance and compliance work to undertake, where you will add your ideas and support to improving our policies and processes. At the same time you will need to react quickly and reprioritise your workload as new casework, including complaints made against the PCC and Chief Constable, appeals and information requests come in for you to deal with.

CORE WORK AREAS
- To support the Corporate Administration Officer in undertaking complaint casework including, but not limited to, PCC and Chief Constable complaints.
- To undertake analysis on trends and themes identified following complaint reviews and prepare briefing reports.
- To prepare periodic reports on the PCC and Lincolnshire Police's compliance with governance arrangements.
- To co-ordinate and support the compilation of the PCC's Annual Governance Statement.
- To support the development of new and review of existing policies/procedures and the systems and processes that underpin them in order that they become business as usual.
- To administer the process for making Decisions of Significant Public Interest arising from the exercise of the PCC's duties, including the preparation and publication of a Forward Plan of decisions.
- To support the Corporate Administration Officer with the appropriate and lawful disclosure of information under the Freedom of Information Act, Environmental Information Regulations and General Data Protection Regulations, ensuring information requests are processed within statutory timescales.
- To support the Corporate Administration Officer in the selection and appointment of Legally Qualified Chairs and Independent Members serving on Police Appeal Tribunals (PATs) and Misconduct Panels.
- To support the Corporate Administration Officer in fulfilling the PCC's statutory responsibilities in relation to the conduct of PATs and Misconduct Panels.
- To ensure that the PCC meets their commitment to publish information specified in the model Publication Scheme, and for that information to be periodically reviewed.
- To support the Corporate Administration Officer in ensuring that the PCC is fully compliant with Elected Local Policing Bodies' Specified Information Orders.
- To support the Corporate Administration Officer with the development of new and review of existing Information Sharing Agreements for which the PCC is a signatory, ensuring that they are valid and fit for purpose.
- To deputise for the Corporate Administration Officer in managing the PCC's Lincolnshire Independent Custody Visiting Scheme.

**Requirements**:

- Degree level qualification in a relevant discipline, or demonstration of appropriate level and experience in a similar role
- Experience Experience of researching, evaluating and presenting information
- Experience of leading on casework, including against a statutory framework
- Experience of managing a workload with conflicting priorities
- Experience of governance and compliance, and ability to identify and implement improvements in policies/procedures
- Experience and/or knowledge of managing volunteers'.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment in a complex organisation
- Experience of working in a political environment
- Skills Able to work on own initiative/under pressure, alone or as part of a team
- Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to research, understand, collate and process complex information from a variety of sources with strong report writing skills
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with integrity
- Able to plan/co-ordinate and prioritise and recognise the importance of meeting targets and deadlines
- Knowledge Working knowledge and/or experience of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation
- A good understanding of the legislation in relation to the PCC's statutory responsibilities, including the complaints
