The Graduate School at Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking to appoint a Research Degrees Officer in the Student** **Administration** Management team **to provide high quality, effective and professional administrative support to the Graduate School Operations team, providing specialist advice and guidance to academic staff and other stakeholders

**The role**:
We are seeking a professional, motivated and proactive individual to assist the Research Degrees Manager to develop and maintain appropriate business systems and services to support research degree programmes and the delivery of an excellent postgraduate researcher experience

You will supervise a small team and work in collaboration with the wider Operations Team within the Graduate School to provide expert knowledge and guidance in relation to research degree policy, regulation and compliance in relation to PGR student administration, with a focus on the student record and admissions and enrolment whilst also delivering excellent customer service and contributing to change initiatives. Building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders at varying levels will be key to this role.

**About you**:
Ideally you will have a demonstrable understanding of the UK academic research environment and student administration supported by a good understanding of the academic cycle and knowledge of the broad operational activities that underpin successful postgraduate research degrees support; however, we welcome transferable skills.

**About the Department**

Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) is a professional service Directorate with responsibility for the central management and delivery of the University's research and knowledge exchange strategy. Made up of four departments; Research Development & Delivery, Research Environment & Impact, Graduate School and Business Engagement, staff work collaboratively to provide comprehensive support to faculties across the full breadth of research and business partnerships activities.

The post holder will join the Graduate School's Student Administration Management team, supporting the Research Degrees Student Administration Manager to deliver high-quality administrative support for PGR students.
