Oxford, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

We are looking to appoint a Part-time (60% FTE) senior researcher to join the Cultural Psychiatry and Health Inequalities (CHiMES) research group, led by Professor Kam Bhui. You will be working on a project funded by NIHR Oxford Health Biomedical Research Centre within the Mental Health in Development Theme on developing and testing innovative methods for involvement of young people in research that prioritises lived experiences of Children and Young People (CYP) and their families. The post is based in the Department of Psychiatry, at the Warneford Hospital.

The post is for a fixed term (funded for three years).

You will undertake rapid reviews, and work with young people and their families recruited to this specific strand of the work, in close partnership with existing PPI activities and groups across diverse populations. The aim is to establish an extensive children, young people, and families PPIE network using multiple and creative approaches (both in person and digital). We are especially concerned to be inclusive of multiply marginalised groups and those whose voices we less often hear. This is a great opportunity for an experienced researcher to ensure young people are involved in research.

You should have or be close the completion of a PhD in a relevant area, together with relevant experience. With sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes you will have expertise in experience based and creative methods of gathering views from young people. Experience of independently managing a discrete area of a research project from securing a grant, to project set up, collecting data, to analysis and write up and publication would be desirable as would advanced qualitative skills for synthesising complex digital, experiential, creative arts and narrative data

The closing date for this post is 12.00 midday on 9th January.
