**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Research Group led by Professor Len Seymour. The major focus of the Research Group is the validation and characterisation of bispecific agents targeting the tumour stroma, either as monotherapies or encoded in an oncolytic virus.

You will play a important role in the team, designing, cloning and expressing bispecifics and engineered oncolytic viruses in vitro. You will be working with human tumour clinical biopsies and you will take an active role in managing your academic research and administrative activities. The role will involve adapting existing and developing new research methodologies and materials. You will also assist with supervision of junior scientists, technicians and research students.

You will be responsible for generating high-quality, reproducible data, suitable for submission in the context of grant proposals and prepare manuscripts for publications in peer journals and research reports for grant renewals and high-profile international conferences.

The post is based at the Department of Oncology, Old Road Campus Research Building, Headington, Oxford, OX3 7DQ. It is offered on a part-time basis and is fixed term for 12 months.

**About you**

You will have an interest in therapeutics and a good understanding of molecular cloning techniques and working with human biopsies. You will hold a Ph.D/D.Phil (or near to completion) in virology, immunology, biotechnology, molecular or cell biology and have previous experience in molecular cloning and immunological research including previous experience with oncolytic viruses. You will have robust knowledge of molecular engineering and/or immunological techniques and extensive skilled hands-on experience. You will have the ability to work as part of a team, the ability to organise your own work with minimum supervision and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with laboratory procedures including mammalian tissues culture, electrophoresis, microscopy and/or flow cytometry is essential for this role.
