Tram Operations Limited (TOL) is a FirstGroup subsidiary that is proud to operate the London Trams service for Transport for London (TfL). The tram service with its 39 tramstops provides inter-urban, cross-borough services, in Southwest London, for customers travelling between Wimbledon and New Addington or Beckenham Junction and Elmers End to Croydon.

London Trams provides excellent connectivity with 7 National Rail stations in the region, such as East Croydon, Wimbledon, Elmers End and Beckenham Junction. The system also connects with many bus routes.

**About the job**

We are recruiting for the position of Finance Assistant. This is a pivotal role within the company and reports directly to the Finance Director.

The key objectives of the role are to provide day to day accounts support to the Finance Director, accurate financial administration support, collaborate with the Financial Accountant to ensure that KPI's of the Finance Department are achieved, and provide timely reporting information on all account issues to the Finance Director.

It is essential that the postholder is qualified to AAT standard or working towards achieving this, has excellent communication and motivational skills to engage with all levels of staff, and has experience of working with Word/Excel. Being familiar with financial databases and payroll systems would be advantageous, attention to detail and providing accurate work is crucial in this role.

**The duties for the role include**:

- Administering petty cash,
- Processing purchase ledger invoices, and purchase orders,
- Providing payments to suppliers to schedule using BACS and reconciling associated statements.
- You will assist in processing cash book payments and receipts, processing sales invoices, including journals relating to the sales ledger.
- Managing credit control of receipts, banking and reconciling the Tramlink shop payments.
- You will be responsible for reconciling payroll from timesheets and sending accurate figures to FirstGroup payroll.
- Administration of the Pension Contribution Scheme. You will also work alongside internal and external auditors.

**You'll need to be**:

- Qualified to AAT standard (or working towards).

**As a minimum, you will need to have**:

- Good communication and motivational skills to engage with all levels of staff.
- Computer literate, experience of working with Word, Excel and Financial databases and payroll systems would be advantageous.
- Attention to detail, and providing accurate work is essential.
