Do you have an interest in the world of investments? Then this unique opportunity to join the nationally acclaimed East Sussex Pension Fund (the Fund) team is for you. The Fund has an exceptional ability to develop and nurture your skills and abilities and is constantly striving to improve the service to its pension members.

This role will facilitate the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the Fund’s Investment strategy, currently valued at £4.5bn, and enhancing its Responsible Investment strategy. This will include ensuring all commitments that have been undertaken by the Fund are fulfilled, such as
- quarterly performance and investment reporting,
- on boarding new investment managers and transition management
- quarterly engagement reporting,
- Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)
- Stewardship Code
- carbon measurement
- PRI returns.

The post holder will be required to work with the Fund’s Investment Implementation Working Group which consists of industry experts, senior management and elected members, to discuss economic and geopolitical implications on the investments, discuss potential strategic changes and to progress and implement investment strategy decisions.
- Knowledge of investment management principles.
- The ability to analyse, understand and interpret written guidance, policies and procedures and make sound judgement on pensions related issues.
- The capacity for the analysis of complex information.
- The ability to develop practical and creative solutions to manage emerging issues.

This job gives a unique opportunity within East Sussex to work directly with senior management, specialist advisors, investment managers and other LGPS Funds. Your efforts will impact on the 140 employers within the Fund and its 80,000 members.
