**About you**:
As a lead officer you will have line management responsibilities within the commissioning and placements team, and so it’s really important to us that you are a passionate and energetic leader who shares our commitment, working in collaboration with a range of partners to support Wigan children and young people to live happy, healthy lives.

We are looking for a great communicator, and someone who is used to developing effective relationships with external providers, partners and customers, with the commitment and drive to ensure the ongoing improvement and transformation of the market.

**Your role**:
In this role you will help us to deliver on our Sufficiency Strategy, by understanding the needs of our children and young people and ensuring their needs can be met through high quality local provision.

You will have a lead role in ensuring we achieve value for money and maximise the resources available to us, through developing the existing commissioning model to ensure financial control and the best possible outcomes.

Your role will benefit from having line management responsibilities within the team, working closely with colleagues across children’s services to ensure the best help and support is given at the right time and in the right place.
