**Job summary**:
Within the Department for Levelling up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) the Funding Delivery Directorate is responsible for delivering a range of programmes across the UK. We do this working in partnership with local communities, Local Authorities, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Mayoral Combined Authorities, the private sector and have strong links into the Devolved Nations and Territorial Offices.

**Job description**:
The team is responsible for understanding how the programme is being delivered on the ground through effective reporting, management information and performance management. Funding decisions have been made on two competitive rounds of LUF totalling £2.1bn with a third round expected to be launched this year.

As a member of the team you would be responsible for overseeing delivery and performance of a portfolio of projects. You will be expected to work closely with Area Teams to understand and grip delivery issues and risks and manage those through performance conversations. You will also work across teams to feed into different work streams including systems, processes and procedure that have been designed to help with the delivery of the programme. Alongside this there will also be opportunities to be involved with more corporate activities and task groups to support the wider departmental objectives.

**Responsibilities**

All roles will include a number of the following responsibilities, which will be determined by the requirements of the programme:
Establishing and maintain effective partnership working with Area Teams from across the UK and external stakeholder. This will include active participation in regular meetings for example, Programme Forums to share information and experience across departments.

Supporting strong programme / performance management - managing/ tracking deliverables, recording risks and developing mitigations; providing quality assurance

Potentially provide line management within a small team, prioritising Performance and Development conversations, developing a learning culture and developing team skills to deliver high impact programmes.

Ensuring a high-quality service to applicants/ recipients of funding, including ensuring communications are clear and consistent and queries are dealt with in a timely manner.

Managing the programme inbox and collating FAQs on a rota basis.

Supporting programme communications including preparing for announcements, developing narrative and commissioning case studies, ensuring consistent and appropriate responses to media queries.

Responsible for ensuring that valid finance claims are paid on time and contributing to budget control of the programme, flagging issues to be resolved.

**Person specification**:
Experience of managing claims and processing payments and having good attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ensuring any written work is concise and conveying complex information in plain English.

The ability to adapt to changing circumstances and adverse situations whilst remaining calm, reassuring others and maintaining performance.

The ability to build good networking relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

The ability to deliver challenging messages to stakeholders and maintain a good working relationship with them.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to work at pace when required.

The ability to pick up new tasks and concepts quickly and lead others in doing the same.
