**Description of role and company**:
Due to expansion, our team is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and determined Telephone Collections Operator. We are a well-established debt enforcement agency working on behalf of local authorities. This is a full time, office based, permanent role. Rundles work on behalf of local authorities across England and Wales, you will be dealing with inbound and outbound calls relating to unpaid Council Tax, Penalty Charges Notices, Business Rates and Sundry Debts. We pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service skills alongside being empathetic to both the individual and our clients. The applicant will ideally have previous work experience in a Call Centre and previous debt negotiation experience although this is not essential. Full training will be provided with support from the in-house managerial team who will assist you throughout your journey.

**Role**
- Receiving calls from customers owing money to the local authority clients, or third parties acting on their behalf
- Outbound calls to establish contact with customers, collect payments and/or set an arrangement
- Collecting payment in full alongside always ensuring a high standard of customer service
- Negotiating payment arrangements in accordance with guidelines as well as using your initiative if payment in full cannot be collected
- Refer, where necessary, cases to relevant debt advisory groups and associated organisations where required to meet the needs of vulnerable customers
- Reviewing and updating the database notes and the status of accounts - ensuring information is recorded accurately and professionally
**About you**:
To be successful in the role you would need to demonstrate:
- Confidence in dealing with customers over the phone - often in challenging circumstances
- Confident negotiator to achieve the shortest arrangements to fulfil client requirements
- Previous practical office administration experience
- Attention to detail - able to spot and rectify mistakes quickly
- Being comfortable in using a variety of technologies and software systems
- Needing to work procedures and policies designed for the team
- Dealing with a diverse range of calls (including some of the most vulnerable of people) and being able to determine the most appropriate outcome for both the customer and our clients
