Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is currently recruiting for a Construction Site Lead to support one of our UK projects.

This is a hybrid role that can be based anywhere in the UK, mobility and travel to customer sites and face to face meetings with colleagues will be expected as required, followed by site based for the main construction execution phase.

Provision of Construction management services related to CDM Construction management and management of a sub-contracted construction scope of work on a major National Framework Project.
- Managing the CDM construction process, supervising sub-contractor activities through the construction project life-cycle to on-site
- Deliver a high standard construction capability at both Project and Corporate levels, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach is always implemented
- Implementation of a continuous improvement philosophy across the construction function, always delivering best practices
- Support the Project Construction Manager in delivery and management of all contractors at site
- In accordance with CDM regulations provide Pre-Construction support to the project
- To ensure that all Project/Company HSE goals are achieved and where possible exceeded
- Drive safety leadership and ensuring safe delivery of multi-discipline work scopes
- To study and assess the relevant drawings, specifications, and instruction for the functional area of responsibility
- Coordinate with the design team to enhance the design element and highlight any special recommendations to reduce risk or optimise schedule
- Constructively challenge engineering concepts with a view to minimizing shutdown schedule
- Assist with site surveys to enhance design development
- Input to schedule development, defining execution risks in general, and critical path specific risks during shutdowns
- Development of Construction Workpack information which can be transferred to the Main Construction Contractor for safe and efficient execution of work
- Provide day to day coordination and management of Main Construction Contractor at site
- Maintain primary contact and a good working relationship with all site contractors’ representatives
- Control of Work (permit) approvals
- Liaise between design team and Main Construction Contractor for resolution of site queries and questions
- Review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments
- Project schedule focus for completion of key activities and milestones
- Mechanical Completion and assistance with pre-commissioning, utilising Go Technology system
- Assist Project Manager with management of change
- Input to weekly and monthly reporting
- Monitor Quality in accordance with Quality plan and ITP’s
- Input to lessons learned
- Working to the Wood Ethics and Compliance rules, Sustainability goals and reporting any and all deviations
- E&I Controls background in site construction with demonstratable experience
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience of managing contractors within CDM Principle Contractor position
- To be conversant with construction/commissioning mechanical completion technology
- Ability to deliver documentation that is technically correct to the required standard and schedule
- Understand and control the running of work sites
- Experience in industries e.g. Oil and Gas
- Experience in Brownfield upgrades / replacement instrumentation and control projects
- Experience with dealing with Valves, Instruments, Cable runs, Control rooms, etc
- Compressor Station/Metering experience is advantageous
- Prior experience reviewing and approving commissioning/construction works
- Well organised and have a keen eye for detail
- Able to operate in an integrated team environment supporting and leading others with a desire and ability to build trust and respect throughout the team
