Burgess Hill, United Kingdom Pink Tile Education - Sussex Full time

**A **re you ready to embark on an extraordinary adventure that will leave you feeling fulfilled and inspired? Join our exceptional SEN school, where every day presents a new opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young learners with special educational needs. Get ready to redefine the meaning of job satisfaction as you become an integral part of a team that is truly making a difference.**

We are seeking extraordinary individuals who possess a unique blend of initiative, adaptability, and a genuine love for working with young people. As a proactive member of our team, you will create a safe and nurturing environment where children can flourish and thrive. From maintaining a smooth-running classroom to seizing every opportunity for learning, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students.

When you step into our school, you'll be greeted by a supportive community of educators who are passionate about what they do. Joining a team of four dedicated Teaching Assistants and a Teacher, you'll collaborate closely with your colleagues to create a harmonious learning environment that fosters growth and development. Your contribution will extend beyond your own classroom, as you actively contribute to the school's ethos and overall success.

In this role, professionalism and a positive attitude are essential. Picture yourself singing, modeling toys, and developing innovative behavior management strategies that engage and inspire our students. Be open to expanding your skill set through the courses provided by the school, and embrace the opportunity to be part of a team that is constantly seeking ways to enhance the learning experience.

Your role as a Teaching Assistant goes far beyond academics. You'll play a crucial part in providing consistency and reliability, understanding the importance of your role in supporting the children's learning, routines, and even personal care if needed. By building strong relationships with the students and demonstrating a natural understanding of their needs, you'll create a safe and inclusive space for their growth.

We value experience in related fields such as nursery work, childcare, and care for individuals with dementia. If you have a background in childminding, babysitting, or have volunteered in schools and afterschool clubs, your transferable skills will be highly valued. We also appreciate individuals who have personal experience with close family members who have SEN, as your natural understanding can make a tremendous impact.

Your journey with us will begin with consistent hours from 8:45 am to 4:00 pm (with an extension to 5:00 pm on Tuesdays). This full-time role follows a term-time only schedule, which includes five inset days. Although we may hire for specific roles such as Early Years, Primary, or Secondary, we expect all applicants to be flexible and willing to provide cover for classes throughout the school when needed.

Initially, this position offers a temp-to-perm opportunity with a 12-week probation period. This allows you to familiarize yourself with our school's unique environment and showcase your skills and potential for a permanent role. Our school caters to students with a range of mild learning disabilities, some of whom are non-verbal and communicate through gestures and behaviour. You'll receive specialized training to understand their individual needs, including medical support, mobility assistance, feeding, and personal care.

In our school, learning takes various forms based on the age group. In the lower years, you'll have the joy of engaging children in play and interactive activities both indoors and outdoors. For the higher years, you'll empower students to make independent choices and work towards success, with your guidance and support. Most students will be working towards entry-level or P-level qualifications, and your ability to use initiative and creativity to support their learning through play will be key.

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll be entrusted with responsibilities that require good initiative and attention to detail. Your animated nature and willingness to get involved, whether through singing, toy modeling, or using theme songs as motivators, will captivate the young minds in your care. Resilience will be essential as you navigate the occasional challenges in behaviour management, relying on patience, understanding, and adherence to our behaviour policies to develop effective strategies.

Collaboration with the class teacher will be paramount. You'll read and interpret lesson plans, working closely to ensure the best possible learning experience for the children. At the end of each day, you'll provide reflective feedback about the children you worked with, enabling continuous improvement and growth. Your role as a role model will inspire and motivate your pupils, helping them develop into confident and capable individuals.

While experience in working with children and SEN is advantageous, we
