TeacherActive is delighted to be recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant on behalf of a thriving all-through school located in Streatham, South London. This role is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young learners to overcome barriers to education within a diverse, multicultural school community.
Role Overview:
This position focuses on helping students aged 3 to 19 through personalized support, working alongside a committed Inclusion team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in nurturing students’ development, with a particular focus on assisting those learning English as an additional language (EAL) to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students' English language levels and plan targeted support to aid EAL students in their learning journey.
- Foster an engaging, inclusive classroom environment that inspires a love for learning.
- Collaborate within the Inclusion team to meet individual learning needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families, using both verbal and written communication.
- Utilize ICT resources to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Manage priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic school environment, remaining flexible and resilient.
Candidate Requirements:
- Recent experience in a school setting, primary or secondary.
- Knowledge of child development and a passion for helping students achieve their best.
- Expertise in EAL support, with the ability to assess and implement targeted learning strategies.
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a varied and demanding educational setting.
