POSITION DESCRIPTION

**Process Support Champion**

At **British Gypsum** we are looking for a **Process Support Champion **to work in our East Leake world class manufacturing operation alongside a multi-disciplinary Engineering Team consisting of Automation, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers.** **Your role will be critical in ensuring future process improvement projects and initiatives are implemented across the business

**The Process Support Champion **will provide support of the overall Operational Excellence Strategy. The Process Support Champion will support the development of Process and Quality improvements in the board plants across all factories within British Gypsum, using and promoting the World Class manufacturing techniques and developing a continuous improvement culture across the business. This role will ensure the developments across all BG locations fall in line with best practice. Gypsum is the vital raw material at the heart of our plaster and plasterboard, and much of it is mined, milled, and made in Britain. In fact, as custodians of British gypsum reserves, we’ve been mining it for more than 150 years.

**What we’re looking for**:

- Person will have a chemical engineering, science engineering or a relevant process engineering degree
- Heavy industrial experience with 4-5 years project management exposure within process engineering sector
- Adaptability, analytical and technical minded, solid exposure to Continuous exposure projects within a world class manufacturing facility
- Experience in a production environment, following strict safety rules and regulations, as well as detailed instructions with strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment
- A positive attitude to self-development and a willingness to coach, develop and mentor individuals at all levels of the organisational structure
- Experience and skills within process modelling and simulation modelling,

**What you will be doing**:

- The Process Support Champion will be responsible for driving capacity, energy and sustainability, work to support the plants involve efficiency, energy and capacity saving projects working on medium
- and long-term focus.
- Supporting the plants with problems as 20% of the role will be performing root cause analysis, analyzing opportunities to make process improvements,
- Working within a multi discipline team of 20 engineers to try and improve the process, running trials and helping plants to realize their long-term potential
- Position requires travel throughout the UK visiting our 5 British Gypsum manufacturing facilities
- The Process Support Champion will be responsible for continually driving safe behavior by performing SMAT’s, TASK audits and risk assessment when on site
- Assists plants in selection and execution of key projects as identified on the plant “single agenda” matrix and provides overall process support across all areas of manufacturing for the sites
